Our love story

One word (or app I should say), Tinder.

We met on Tinder after Ben “super” liked me and at the time he was in a rural area skydiving, so we didn’t meet up in person for our first date until after a week of chatting through messaging.

Our first date went extremely well, and we then continued to see each other. Eventually Ben asked me to be his girlfriend officially on an escalator at Melbourne Central after a dinner date.

Then the rest is history!

The wedding venue & styling

After Ben proposed to me on Valentine’s Day 2019 in Gold Coast during a holiday, he told me he already booked tentative dates for Mitchelton Wines as he knew that was where we both wanted to get married.

The first time Ben took me to Mitchelton Wines for a staycation I fell in love with it. It's modern, sophisticated with a touch of rustic and country so basically everything Ben and I stand for! Mitchelton Wines also has sentimental value to Ben as it is close to his hometown and his parents used to take them there for lunches growing up.

As we were driving home past the beautiful vineyards during sunset I blurted out, “I see why people get married at wineries, this is where I'd love to get married!”.

The Dress

I knew I didn’t want a traditional wedding dress or even going through the standard dress shopping experience, it just wasn't me!

One night as I was scrolling through Instagram, I came across a very simple, but elegantly designed dress on a fellow Melbournian so I slid into her dms and asked her who the designer was. She told me it was a friend of hers who is an amazing dressmaker and designer, Cassandra Renee.

After contacting Cassandra through emailing, I had such a good feeling from her responses, helpfulness and genuine excitement to create a unique piece within my budget.

The moment we met I felt like Cassandra was an old friend as she was super attentive and friendly. She has so much knowledge, unique style and gave me a lot of confidence in knowing she could bring my vision wedding outfit to life.

The result was more than I could have ever imagined… My wedding playsuit was modern yet chic and unique with a detachable tulle skirt which elongated my curvy body shape. It covered the places I feel not the best about myself and accentuated the features I didn’t know I had!!

Cassandra’s attention to detail at every point of contact with me was second to none, especially during the fitting sessions and having her to dress me on my wedding day was just exceptional.
